Down with self doubt, lets do empowerment instead!

What do you so when the doubt creep in? That impish self doubt that gets us all at one point or another…

Maybe you start to think “I can’t do this” or “I can’t start something new” and maybe that is even accompanied by an “at this age”. Yup that self doubt can be brutal and perhaps it has already stopped you from trying or doing a lot of things you have wanted to try in the past… Why is that do you think?

Why do we doubt ourselves so much? The idea of imposter syndrome can scare us out of so many wonderful things because we let that little voice in our heads take over, the voice that says “who are you to do that?” Ugh why do we do that?!

But I say screw that voice! I say no thank you voice your opinion is not welcome here and will not be listened to.

Instead let’s turn away from self doubt and towards self compassion. Remember all of the things you have achieved in the past, every damn great thing you have done in your life – remember all of those? So why could you not do this one thing now? Why are you allowing yourself to be held back? The present moment is always a new opportunity and using the solid foundation of all of your past achievements and strengths can propel you forward. For example, rather than thinking that age is a deterrent to trying new things – how about switching that thought to – with age comes wisdom and with age comes a wealth of incredible past achievements that fuel the ability to achieve even more now and into the future. Way better thought, right?!

And no, no there will be no comparison to others here, this is your journey and yours alone. You get to choose what this looks like for you and I will tell you this, you do not need any external validation for that. Your own reassurance is more powerful than anything you can get from the outside – it is pure, it is real, it is yours and it is always with you!

So go out there and do the damn thing! You are powerful, you’ve got this!
