Creating attractive healthy habits that stick…

You’ve heard that building healthy habits can help get you healthy and help you stay that way. The first stage of developing a healthy habit that sticks is to make it obvious! It is obvious that something like daily movement, or good nutrition, quality sleep or stress management, and a regulated nervous system are all areas of your life where establishing healthy habits that bring balance, joy, and [insert happy state here].

But what about the other stages of developing healthy habits that stick??

The next stage is making it attractive. And how the hell do you do that, you might be asking!

Here’s how I managed to do this around working out – which when I first started my fitness journey was really difficult to stick to every day! The excuses I would make up for myself not to go were other level haha!

So here’s what worked – I thought about, and really felt into, that great feeling you get after you have achieved a hard, intense workout – that feeling of achievement when all the endorphins (happy hormones) are coursing through your body, and that made me push past the not wanting to/not feeling like/excuse making. This was because the pull of the great feeling I knew I would get afterwards was greater than my lame excuses. I knew I would feel great when I was done and my need for/seeking out that feeling got me into the gym and into the workout and the rest took care of itself.

So, next time you don’t feel like doing something you know you’ll feel good after doing, think of this trick and try it! See how well it works! This is the ultimate way to make that new healthy habit attractive so it sticks!
